Our levels of satisfaction and professional and personal motivation, which make us feel more comfortable with the life we lead and, therefore, happier, seem to have a common focus on June 20, a little before officially welcoming the summer, June 21.
And is that the increase in temperatures and hours of light, the possibility – those who also have the opportunity – to work intensive hours, the extra pay for the month of June or even the proximity of summer holidays or events outdoors, they are completely related to our level of happiness. That is why June 20 stands out as the happiest day of the year, a day that also coincides with the one with the most hours of light of all the days this year (with an average of 15 hours).
With temperatures neither excessively hot nor excessively cold , the month of June favors an improvement in our mood and well-being thanks to the increase in the hours of sunlight.
In the absence of sunlight and all its benefits, our body decreases its levels of cortisol, serotonin or melatonin, which influences mood, energy or sleep.
World Happiness Day
Apart from this day associated with the hours of sunshine, happiness also has its own day. World Happiness Day is celebrated on March 20 of each year and was established by the UN in 2012 as a way to promote the development of personal well-being.
