Why is Zombie Pride Day celebrated?

Brains and more brains . Zombie Pride Day is a date for all those fans of the undead books, comics, television series and movies, to live it with all the fervor they want.

The mentor of this celebration is none other than the American filmmaker George Andrew Romero whose birthday is precisely on February 4 . Romero was the founder of this film genre full of guts, blood and groans with the famous cult film "Night of the Living Dead" which was released in 1968 . Despite not being the first to film movies with zombies, it has been considered by popular culture as its creator, for introducing certain characteristic elements of these very particular creatures.

The festival has its origin in the United States but has already crossed borders and to pay tribute to Romero, fans of the horror genre starring zombies, dress up, put on makeup and go out to star in their own horror movie, full of laughter and little dread.

There is no doubt that zombies are very much alive in our days and not only at the audiovisual level (" In the Flesh", "The Walking Dead", "iZombie", "Les Revenants", "Z Nation" … ); As a curiosity, there are even versions adapted with the "zombie level" for "Don Quixote", "Pride and Prejudice" or "The guide to Tormes".
