What is tantric sex?

It is a way of performing the sexual act based on Tantra , which in Sanskrit means network or secret. It is a set of Buddhist and Hindu esoteric religious texts and rituals in which the god Shiva explains the philosophy of tantric ritual. This includes the practice of conscious sex as a way to enhance human sensitivity and focus all energy on mutual satisfaction.

This ancient knowledge, originating from the Dravidians, ancient inhabitants of the Indus Valley, manages the so-called sexual energy of the individual to achieve ecstasy . Tantrism uses a series of techniques to prolong sexual pleasure ( bhoga ) and delay orgasm, which makes it very attractive to the West, where sex, highly oriented to male pleasure, has become a sport against the clock.

In Tantric philosophy, there is no superiority of one sex and it makes no distinction between the pure and the impure, beauty and ugliness, good and evil. As in the Taoist conception of Yin-yang, the opposite poles complement each other to configure the process of the divine. He also considers ejaculation a waste of energy and teaches his followers to experience orgasm without the emission of semen . There are even currents that recommend celibacy to avoid it.
