The CX-60 is destined to become a new reference model for its extraordinary design both in the exterior and in the interior, for its latest generation human-oriented technology and, above all, for its first-class engines . In fact, Mazda’s large SUV is the brand’s first model to feature a plug-in hybrid engine. This PHEV is the spearhead and combines a 2.5 l gasoline engine. Skyactiv-G four-cylinder direct injection with a 129 kW electric motor and a 17.8 kWh 355 V high-capacity battery.
This combination of a gasoline and an electric motor makes possible a total power development of 327 hp / 241 kW and a powerful torque delivery of up to 500 Nm, making the Mazda CX-60 PHEV the series production model strongest in the company’s history. Its performance is impressive, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds and a top speed limited to 200 km/h. But it is that, in addition, its environmental credentials are extraordinary , especially when it works only with the electric motor. WLTP combined cycle fuel consumption is just 1.5 l/100 km. WLTP CO2 emissions in the combined cycle have been lowered to 33 g/km.
It can also be chosen with an e-Skyactiv electric motor that offers a range of 63 kilometers , as long as the vehicle travels at less than 100 km/h. The high-voltage battery has been placed between the front and rear axles, in a position as low as possible within the bodywork, which means that the center of gravity is particularly low. This feature, combined with a permanent all-wheel drive system with torque transfer between the axles, provides this model with extraordinary maneuverability, on a par with the best in the premium segment.
Likewise, the Mazda CX-60 will also be produced with a new generation e-Skyactiv X gasoline engine, 3.0 liters and 6 cylinders in line. There will also be a 3.3-liter e-Skyactiv D diesel version, also 6-cylinder, with two power variants. These engines have been sized with the aim of optimizing the relationship between displacement, efficiency and consumption. These two versions will be equipped with the 48V Mazda M Hybrid Boost mild hybrid system , offering excellent torque development, low fuel consumption and low emissions.
