Mourinho points to Tottenham if they fire Pochettino

José Mourinho remains unemployed … although perhaps not for long. The Portuguese coach has been without a team since December 2018 after his dismissal from Manchester United after linking a series of results that led the Red Devils leadership to make the decision to put an end to The Special One stage. Now, Nearly ten months of inactivity on the bench, he could get the opportunity that he waits so much again in England. The crisis that Tottenham Hotspur of Mauricio Pochettino is experiencing these days has the Argentine coach between the ropes. The team that was runner-up in the Champions League last season has started it in the worst way. The Londoners have come to this national team break in a worrying situation: they have only won three matches out of 11 played. Three wins, two draws and three losses put them ninth in the Premier League, 13 points behind the leader. The draw against Oympiacos in Greece and the embarrassing defeat at home against Bayern Munich have them added just one point in the Champions League. In addition, they fell in the Cup on penalties against Colchester, fourth in England. The numbers are ridiculous for Spurs at the moment and the White Hart Line offices are already considering the possibility of dismissing Pochettino after this start. The next two games at home, Watford and Red Star, and the next outing to Anfield against Liverpool will be decisive in whether or not the decision is made. In that waiting time is José Mourinho who, as reported in the Daily Mail, is the main candidate for the London technical secretariat and would be interested in taking on this project. The Portuguese, who has already rejected several Asian offers and a specific one from Benfica, is seduced by this possibility after a long period of inactivity on the benches. Mourinho already stated that he had “to be patient and wait for the right opportunity and the right opportunity is the one with the same size and the same level as me as a coach. I have to wait for exactly the right one. Apparently, Tottenham does fall within the parameters that the Portuguese attributes for himself.
