This team competition, also known as F3F, was devised in the late 1990s by Kirk Krack, one of the world's leading specialists in free diving. In it, a group of swimmers have to complete in the shortest possible time a route previously set by the organizers of the test.
Participants depend on their own lung capacity, as they cannot carry tubes or bottles to breathe underwater. There are several modalities, but, in essence, each team, made up of three divers , must complete a tour at a depth of about 20 meters.
As if it were a slalom, it has several doors fixed to the bottom that must be correctly crossed. The point of spectacularity is marked by a propellant that swimmers carry between their legs and use to move at high speed around the circuit. The idea is to complete the journey in the shortest time possible – in any case, it should not exceed 90 seconds – and then hand over the device to a colleague, who repeats the operation. The group with the best combined mark wins.
