MotoGP: Maverick Viñales presents his candidacy

Maverick Viñales has got off to a good start in 2021. The Spaniard claimed victory in Qatar with a prestigious victory that places him as the first leader of the MotoGP World Championship, after a hectic race. The Yamaha rider started in the front row of the grid but, as usual, the M1 made a bad start again, with Quartararo and Viñales losing several starting positions with four Ducati in the top positions. Everything was going wrong again for a Maverick that has been a candidate for the title for years but has never passed third place in the general classification. Yamaha’s strategy was to help each other, not get ahead and beat rivals at the same time. That was how they went for several laps until they reached the podium positions, at which point, with Zarco and Bagnaia in front, the one from Roses looked with more rhythm than his teammate and decided to overtake him to go in search of victory. Mack looked capable of catching up with the Ducati and he pulled until he did, displaying a personality and temperance he hadn’t taught until now. Slowly but surely, stealthily, he reached the top positions and took advantage of the fight between the two Ducati to put himself in first position. His great moment was coming, it was time to show the great champion that he has inside. Despite the great dominance of the Italian manufacturer, the Yamaha manufacturer pulled personality to end up imposing its law, thus hitting the table in the first race of the year.
