According to a recent study, the multiplication table operation in which students make the most mistakes is 6×8 . Specifically, for this multiplication, schoolchildren fail two out of every three times they try to operate, as found out by the educational technologies firm Flurrish using an app developed specifically for the study. They follow closely in terms of number of errors 8×6, 11×12, 12×8 and 8×12 . Respondents, who worked with the multiplication tables from 1 to 12, were also wrong more than half the time when solving 7×8 and 12×9.
By numbers, the simplest table for schoolchildren is 1 (8% failures), followed by 2 and 10 (12% errors each). The ones that cost us the most in the school stage are the table of 12 (with an error percentage of 34%) and that of 8 (33.1%).
