A plant found in Borneo is one of the largest carnivorous vegetables in the world, with flowers that measure 2.5 meters . It is called Nepenthes Robcantleyt , it has a kind of mouth or pitcher and was found in the late eighties, although until now it had not been recognized as a new species.
In addition to eating insects -which it attracts with its original interior covering with spots arranged in the shape of a checkerboard-, they are also appetizing snacks for this "Queen of hearts" (its common name), mice, rats and frogs . According to its discoverers, the plant digests its prey with hydrochloric acid and enzymes similar to those of the human stomach.
