Two centimeters above the elbow joint, a large bony prominence can be palpated on the outside of the arm. It is the medial epicondyle , behind which we find a deep groove. Palpation of this area can cause a strange and funny sensation of tingling or numbness that reaches the hand, due to pressure on the ulnar nerve. That is why it is known by the nickname of the "funny bone" .
Another curious fact: the inflammation of the tendons that adhere to this bone is called "golfer's elbow ."
