Throughout the day we ingest food and fluids that we eliminate in various ways. For example, we normally expel 1400 milliters a day through our urine . In addition, carbon dioxide and water vapor are sent to the lungs within 24 hours, so that we usually eliminate 350 ml of water through the lungs every day . The skin loses another 350 milliliters of fluid through perspiration – a liquid that evaporates directly into the air. And with normal temperature and little activity we sweat approximately 100 milliliters of water a day, while if we do intense physical exercise the loss through sweat can amount to 5 liters of fluid.
On the other hand, in the morning we weigh less than when we go to bed because while we sleep the body continues to eliminate water, especially through sweating and exhalation.
