Does smoking tire us?

Yes, at least to our muscles. Rob Wüst from the University of Amsterdam (The Netherlands) has shown that smokers' muscles tire faster than non-smokers regardless of how many cigarettes they consume per day . According to Wüst, the effect of tobacco on the muscles is immediate and is probably the consequence of a reduction in the supply of oxygen to the muscle fibers .

In his experiments, the Dutch researcher analyzed how leg muscles contracted in smokers and non-smokers. And he found that fatigue appeared much faster in the first group. The researcher concludes that quitting smoking not only avoids lung problems and the risk of cancer, but also improves the ability of patients to practice physical exercise .
