In a study conducted a few years ago with subjects from 22 countries, Joe Hallock concluded that 57% of men choose blue as their favorite color, compared to 35% of women who opt for this option. The differences are especially significant when it comes to the color violet : 23% of the women surveyed by Hallock chose it as their preferred color compared to 0% of the men. When it comes to green, the proportion of people who choose it as a favorite is the same for both sexes, 14%. Interestingly, from the age of 70 the answers are more homogeneous and 82% of people choose blue as their preferred color.
The colors that both men and women like least are brown and orange , which together account for about 50% of negative responses.
The study also revealed that men go for bright colors, while women tend to choose soft colors and pastel shades. As for the names of the colors, what for them is "pink" for them has shades such as strawberry pink, bubblegum pink, magenta or salmon. The same happens with green, purple and blue.
