The weather in large parts of Germany remains moderate – it is still too cool for the end of May. But there is hope, especially for the East.
Offenbach (dpa) – Whitsun is just around the corner and in many places outdoor restaurants are opening after months of stricter corona lockdowns – only the weather does not want to play.
“A strong and constant high pressure area that brings us summery weather is not in sight,” said the German Weather Service on Thursday in Offenbach. Guilt is deep “Marco” west of the British Isles. It ensures wet and windy weather, as Jacqueline Kernn from the weather forecast center explained.
“On Sunday, high pressure prevails for a short time and the weather calms down,” Kernn gave a little hope. The showers become less frequent and the sun shows up more frequently. However, a new front system is approaching from the northwest on Monday night.
No large jumps in temperature are to be expected. It stays too cool for the end of May. On Friday with the sun in the east, 21 degrees are in there, otherwise the temperature will not exceed 19 degrees. In permanent gray we get stuck at 14 degrees.
“On Whit Monday there is hope for milder and largely dry weather with maximum values of up to 23 degrees, at least for a broad strip from the southwest to the east,” said Kernn. In the southeast and northwest, however, clouds and showers remain.
