Eating eggs, yogurt and other protein-rich foods for breakfast increases satiety and helps control appetite throughout the day, as well as "snack" less before the next meal, according to a recent study by University of Missouri (USA). To reach this conclusion, the researchers used functional magnetic resonance imaging to study which areas of the brain were activated each morning in a group of adolescents based on the content of breakfast. In this way, they found that compared to those who drank cereals and milk for breakfast, the subjects who consumed protein in the form of yogurts and eggs at the beginning of the day showed greater activity in the areas of the brain that control motivation for food and reward , while reducing his appetite.
? A breakfast rich in protein can improve appetite control and prevent obesity in young people ,? the authors noted in the journal Obesity .
