Income (compared to 34.2% of men who do). These are the conclusions of a study carried out by the University of Murcia and funded by the Spanish Institute for Women, which also reveals 33.8% of women are unaware of the operation of VAT , compared to 18.7% of men. According to the Institute for Women, there is a "citizenship deficit" of women in tax matters that is a consequence of their historical dedication to the domestic sphere and that is more pronounced in older women.
The research also shows that women are more confident that the administrations manage the money collected correctly than men , although they are less satisfied than they with the result of this management.
