Two robots better than one? To vacuum and scrub, yeah

A few months ago I published on this blog my experience, for a few weeks, with one of those robots that we should all have at home to help us with household chores. iRobot Roomba i7 + was my first smart home robot vacuum. I encourage those who did not read that article to do so because, despite its price, improving quality of life and getting out of the boring routine are some of the reasons why we should be willing , if we have the money clear, to pay for a machine to do the tasks that are done, especially at home.

The Roomba i7 + went so well for me that iRobot friends came up with helping me even more with my daily chores around the house and encouraged me to try a scrubbing robot. Braava Jet m6, in addition to scrubbing, is able to pair with its sister Roomba i7 + so that once it has completed its job of vacuuming, entering the scene and scrubbing with the patience necessary to leave the floor like jets of gold, like they say.

It’s not perfect, of course. Neither does the Roomba. Although he tries, and reaches areas that are difficult to access, he does not reach corners, or climb obstacles to advance if we have left traps for him along the way, but he is able to do his job very effectively . And, what is better, free myself of time to do other things. Thanks to the iRobot application that the user can download to the smartphone, both robots are understood to make an intelligent map of the areas to be vacuumed and scrubbed, and even, the same user can customize and order in which areas they want to do it, and in which not.

An advanced mop system, technology developed by iRobot for the Braava jet m6, is able to intelligently recognize which scrub mode to use, and for which type of floor , depending on the type of cloth installed on the robot. The new cloth technology developed for the robot uses microfiber to mop, and absorbent fibers to scrub while increasing surface contact with the ground.

As we have discussed previously, control from the smartphone through the iRobot HOME application gives the user complete control, wherever they are, to program, customize and select the rooms they want to clean or scrub with their brother Roomba.

Before using the robot, I wondered how the Braava Jet scrubbed, and how it moistened the floor, then spread it out and cleaned it. I soon found that he uses a high-pressure jet sprayer to do this, which kills adherent dirt and stains without reaching furniture, rugs, or walls.

Nor does it wet pets with its stream, unless they put their noses in the same stream. My little chihuahua kept following iRobot’s robot brother and mop, drawing his attention to the jet that he released to move forward and backward and scrub the floor, but they were not scared nor did he put his nose where that little water mixed with the scrub liquid that comes with it in the box. By the way, scarce, and that is only enough for a couple of passes.

The Braava jet m6 smart robot’s Imprint technology does more than just scrub the house. Learn and adapt to the home to determine the best way to clean. With just a few passes to scrub the robot knows the home, and can know exactly where to clean and when. But it is also that it is capable of creating exclusion zones that allows it to better control cleaning by avoiding areas such as the feeders or drinkers of my little chihuahua. Wood, tile, stone … the Braava jet m6 robot scrubs all types of floors.

Just one question, to finish: wouldn’t a single robot be better for vacuuming or scrubbing? There are, but I like the combination of Roomba i7 + and Braava Jet m 6, and what is better, the result of both works.
