If a couple of weeks ago we talked about the new laptops that Lenovo presented at IFA in Berlin, which incorporate innovative artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities to improve the user experience with their computers and make their lives easier, today We are going to talk about how the main competitor of the Chinese company, HP, is able to integrate AI into its star gaming equipment so that players improve their capabilities.
And he has told us, HP, in the presentation of what now becomes his flagship in laptops in the field of gaming. We are talking about the revolutionary HP OMEN X 2S dual-screen laptop, a ‘beast’ that has a unique liquid metal cooling solution on the market, and that also integrates a control center inside, they call it Command Center, to manage dynamic power and performance control functions that allow you to maximize frames per second through real-time management of the CPU and GPU. But it is also that, through the Comand Center, the gamer can access what, in my opinion, is the great novelty of the presentation: the artificial intelligence-assisted coaching function.
Coaching is the new service in the OMEN equipment range that helps the gaming user to improve their gaming skills. For the launch, HP has announced a partnership with Mobalytics, a United States company, to provide support and intelligent coaching for the game League of Legends (LOL). The way the service works is as follows: the player has to enter OMEN Comand Center, create an HP account and link it to the Mobalytics account. And there the player has to create a user and put the LOL profile. Once this is done, you have to play at least five games on the computer to put the application to work.
The Mobalytics artificial intelligence software integrated in the OMENs read the gamer’s way of playing and through a heat map it will observe the movements that are made in the game and the clicks that are made in each area. All this information is contrasted with the data of millions of League of Legends players, among which are the best in the world, to detect the parameters that the user can improve. In this way, the software is able to create a graphic on the screen that shows the player the skills to be improved, such as fighting, farming, vision (how the position of all objects on the game map is identified ), aggressiveness, survivability, goals, consistency or versatility.
Mobalytics is a United States company that has selected HP to support its commitment to the gaming world since with the OMEN brand it sponsors ORIGEN, a LOL team where Xpeke plays, the Spanish eSports player who is one of the best of the world of this video game.
I do not know if Xpeke will play LOL with the new HP OMEN X 2S, an innovative laptop with a starting price of 2,699 euros that has a second 6-inch 1080p touch screen and that allows you to do all those extra activities that the player wants, from chatting on WhatsApp to listening to Spotify, connecting to Twitch or YouTube or controlling all the options that the HP OMEN Command Center makes available to the user.
Gaming, it seems, has already established itself as one of the most popular and profitable entertainment categories. In Europe, the eSports business is expected to reach 2,400 million dollars in 2020. According to data from the consulting firm GfK, regarding the relevance of the gaming sector in our country, in the last year it has grown by 20, 3% in turnover and 12.5% in units, and continues to progress month after month in a continuous way.
And if, in addition, players are now provided with intelligent tools, such as Mobalytics, to analyze the game with AI and be able in real time to show their strengths and abilities to improve their performance, surely the equipment market in the segment gaming will continue to grow even more in the coming years.
