Fortunately, the conservation of the Earth's biodiversity is an issue that worries more and more people. Nature photography is an excellent weapon to show us the wonders of our planet and can also serve as a platform to report threats to our environment. This is the philosophy of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year , which promotes the work of both professional and amateur photographers and also contains a category to reward the youngest artists.
The international jury of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition is made up of six conservation and nature photography professionals who have selected 100 photographs this year from more than 45,000 images submitted by nature photographers from 95 countries.
Selected by an international jury, nine Spanish photographers have been winners and finalists in different categories of the contest. For example, the young photographer Carlos Pérez Naval has won in his category of 11 to 14 years and the photographer Javier Aznar González de Rueda has obtained the award for the Nature Photographer Portfolio, as well as being a finalist in the category of Invertebrate Behavior. .
In this gallery we show you some of the best photos of the contest and, if you want to see more, we recommend you go to the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition, which can be visited at the Official College of Architects of Madrid until December 9.
