A flock of starlings, a northern fulmar and a tundra landscape in Alaska have been the award-winning images of the third edition of the SEO / BirdLife FotoBird photography contest for birds and nature , which sees the number of entries increase every year.
FotoAves 2010 has focused on three categories: "Birds of Spain", "Birds of the world" and "Biodiversity of the planet", thus joining the celebration of 2010 as the International Year of Biological Diversity, declared by the United Nations. With this SEO / BirdLife fulfills one of its main objectives: to spread the wealth of the Iberian and world birds , and thereby contribute to raising awareness in society about the need for their conservation .
The awards, which were presented last week at the Madrid Botanical Garden, are sponsored by Swarovski Optik and Óptica Roma, and the collaboration of Fotonatura and Aefona.
With the thirty best images, a traveling exhibition has been made that will visit different autonomous communities in the next year. And in addition, from this exhibition, twelve other images have been selected with which a large-format calendar has been edited.
