Zero CO2 is not just any sailboat. It is a yacht powered by electric batteries and hydrogen cells that, since August 2, has tried to travel the Mediterranean Sea without emitting any greenhouse gas while analyzing the levels of air and water pollution . The trip will last six months and will end in Morocco, stopping before in Monaco, Rome, Naples, Barcelona, Mallorca … All the energy needs on board necessary for the life of the crew and for the development of the research will be supplied by sources renewable (solar, wind and hydro).
The yacht's route can be followed through the website www.zeroCO2sailing.com, which, among other things, will report on the data collected by the scientists on their trip and the analyzes carried out in the floating laboratory. In addition, the page has a diary or logbook and pedagogical material.
The Zero CO2 boat is 12 meters long and has been built by CEA Liten, a company from Grenoble, France.
