We had the opportunity to ride the new Seat eScooter 125 during the dynamic presentation of the new Seat León e-HYBRID, the company’s first plug-in hybrid model. It was a brief contact but it allowed us to experience some of the sensations conveyed by driving the first motorcycle manufactured by Seat. Marketed under the umbrella of the new Seat MÓ division, focused on offering urban mobility solutions, it takes as its technological base the S01 2020 of the Spanish company Silence , which leads the market and the development of electric motorcycles and mopeds in our country.
The eScooter, 100% electric and with a ZERO label from the DGT, has performance equivalent to a 125cc motorcycle, reaches a top speed of about 95 km / h and the brand announces a range of about 125 to 130 km . The first thing that caught our attention when starting off is its smooth operation. It is extremely quiet, very comfortable and easy to use. In fact, comfort and simplicity are two of the objectives that this motorcycle pursues for those who move daily in urban traffic.
At first glance it is observed that the eScooter has an elegant and sporty design that tries to replicate in the segment of electric scooters the dynamic personality of the Martorell signature vehicles . In fact, those responsible for it affect that the sportsmanship of the brand is implicit in its DNA and it is true because it did not take us long to verify that its behavior is dynamic and very high performance for it is an individual mobility vehicle of an urban nature .
At the controls
As for its specifications, it equips a 7 kW electric motor (with a maximum power peak of 9 kW) and a 5.6 kWh lithium-ion battery. It is also appreciated that it reacts very quickly to any hint about the right fist: it accelerates from 0 to 50 km / h in just 3.9 seconds and the feeling of push is really forceful.
It has three driving modes (Eco, City and Sport) and one of the things that most caught our attention is that it also has reverse gear, at the touch of a button. It is a very convenient functionality in the city that users will undoubtedly appreciate when parking or having to move, especially on streets with a steep slope.
On a practical level, it is necessary to highlight, above all, its battery extraction system . It can be recharged while on the bike, but can be removed thanks to an integrated trolley system, with wheels and a folding handle. In this way, with a simple maneuver, anyone can remove it and move it effortlessly to recharge it at home , in the office or wherever if there is no plug nearby or we do not have the possibility of connecting it to the network in our usual parking lot.
The future is electric
The price set by Seat MÓ for the eScooter 125 is 6,250 euros , although applying the aid of the Moves II Plan it stays at 5,500 euros. There is also the possibility of availing yourself of a 48-month financing plan, which in this case entails a daily fee of only 3 euros .
The Spanish brand has announced that after its launch in our country, it will expand its commercialization to other markets, such as Italy, France, Germany and Portugal . He does not rule out, in the future, also offering it in other countries based on the interest and good reception it has generated in its pre-sale phase, with results that are above the company’s own forecasts. At the moment, it comes in three colors: white, red and gray .
The electric scooter is right now the flagship product of MÓ, Sea t’s new mobility firm, but it won’t be the last. The next step announced by this specific micromobility division (which already has two electric scooters in its offer) will be a micro car, also 100% electric and connected. The idea is to meet the needs of a market in permanent transformation through a new generation of attractive vehicles for young people that are accessible, urban and sustainable.
