Seat presents its vision of urban mobility

Seat has launched a new initiative, with which it will continue to explore new forms of urban mobility with the aim of becoming the benchmark in this field. And, through the Respiro company, the Martorell firm will begin to offer a carsharing service for companies. He has also announced it in ‘Madrid moves by Seat’, a conference where the company presented, for the first time in the capital, its urban mobility strategy and vehicles such as the new Mii electric, the Seat Minimó concept vehicle and the Seat eXS kickscooter powered by Segway. It is expected that this program, which has started in Madrid, will also be transferred to other Spanish cities.

In this way, Seat will soon present its sustainable mobility solutions in different Spanish towns with the main objective of becoming an ally for cities. This announcement is part of its strategy to become a provider of mobility services, beyond the manufacture of vehicles. In addition, it responds to one of the great mobility trends of the future: the collaborative, shared and sustainable economy.

The first company to join Respiro’s corporate carsharing that will operate in Madrid and Barcelona will be Cuatrecasas . In addition, Cepsa and other Spanish companies are also studying joining the initiative. Thus, Cuatrecasas employees will have Seat and Respiro vehicles to make urban journeys during the working day with other colleagues and free of charge for them. All vehicles will be powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) to minimize environmental impact.

In this sense, Arantxa Alonso , executive director of XMOBA , Seat’s subsidiary that owns Respiro, wanted to make it clear that this is a service that is increasingly required by users. “Respiro has more than 12,000 users and that shows that the demand exists, mainly in large urban centers such as Madrid and Barcelona.” “The entry into corporate carsharing is a step forward to meet the needs of citizens and provide them with cars for minutes, hours and days, in the city center, at the dealership and now also at work,” added Alonso.
