Husqvarna, the story that created a motorcycle – Husqvarna present

In 1689 King Charles XI of Sweden ordered the construction of a factory in the town of Huskvarna in order to produce cannons and carabiners. So until 1875 where they reinvent themselves and begin to manufacture hunting rifles, sewing machines, bicycles and stoves.

In 1903 the first motorcycle arrived, which was nothing more than a bicycle reinforced with an engine that came from another manufacturer that provided 1.5 CV of power with nothing more and nothing less than 50 km / h. Years go by winning his first race in 1916 and building the first engine in 1919.

We moved on to 1977, where it was already admired by off-road motorcycle enthusiasts when it was acquired by the Electrolux company and later by the Cagiva group leaving Sweden for the first time in its history. Finally, in 2007 it is acquired by BMW and finally in 2013 and to this day it is acquired by Pierer Industries AG, moving the factory to Austria where, without being directly linked to KTM in projects, they share the industrial group.
