More than 27 million units are sold per year in the world of SUV models. Of which more than four million in Europe and in Spain about 400,000 vehicles will be sold this year. Or put another way, one out of every three cars sold in our country is currently an SUV.
That said, I think the incredible bet that the French brand has made in this segment is sufficiently justified. With the recent incorporation of the Peugeot 5008, the French brand completes its SUV offering.
The bet that began in 2013 with 2008 (a model that to this day is still the best-selling car per year in its category).
The 3008 was a brand new winner of the Car of the Year in Europe; and the older brother, the seven-seater in the range, the 5008.
Three models with many similarities but designed for clients with different goals and paths, more or less family members, more or fewer hobbies, more or less kilometers to travel but with common values. They appreciate the exterior style, they look for the functionality in the case of 2008.
Instead, customers of the 3008 and 5008 value safety and elegance more.
But the different cases are nothing more than the reflection of a fashion, the great global SUV fashion that has come to stay and for a long time.
The car has gone from being a tool not only for mobility, a tool for technology, communication and making you enjoy yourself during and at the end of the road.
