Thomas Hermanns: Comedians want to look ahead

In a few days you can laugh live again in the Quatsch Comedy Club in Berlin. And how much Corona will the comedians have in their program?

Berlin (dpa) – Will there soon only be corona jokes on the comedy stage? Probably not, estimates moderator Thomas Hermanns (58). He expects the comedy scene to take on a lot of new material when it reboots.

"The Corona experience shook our lives so much that we can humorously deal with a lot about it," said Hermanns in Berlin. At the first restart last August, the comedians would of course have had some Corona issues. "But now everyone wants to look ahead again and not look back."

His Quatsch Comedy Club in Berlin will reopen to visitors on June 4th subject to conditions and as part of a pilot project. The city's theaters – with exceptions – were closed for around seven months due to the pandemic.
