If a few weeks ago we learned about the addition of pop singer Rina Sawayama to the cast of John Wick 4 , now it is Shamier Anderson, one of the four actors of Stowaway , Netflix’s latest space hit. But this will not be the only participation in a production of the streaming company in which we will see Anderson, since on June 9 he will premiere the dystopian Disomnia . The production of the 4 part of Baba-yaga accelerates its production phase in the elaboration of the casting, since recently it was also learned of the incorporation of Donnie Yen who will act as an old friend of the protagonist and who already participated in the fantastic spin- off from Star wars Rogue one . On the other hand, Shamier Anderson still does not even know the character that he will play in this installment but he will surely share a fight scene with Keanu Reeves.
For his part, Revees was going to shoot both John Wick 4 and 5 together with the entire team, but in between he had to finish recording his return to the Matrix franchise. The director of the franchise will once again be the same one who has signed the realization of all the other installments , Chad Stahelski, who revolutionized action cinema with the first installment.
The universe of assassins that changed the way action cinema is filmed
In the action film genre, there has always been the use of specialists and montage cuts to generate fast-paced sequences that hook the viewer. Normally all productions had their plot differences, however there were no major differences at the direction level between them. Chad Stalheski and John Wick suddenly changed that way of conceiving the genre, creating a realistic product in which the camera followed the movements and murders of the protagonist without hardly cutting the shot. Apart from its aesthetic part, the level of involvement of the actors in the choreography of movements, falls and keys. To understand this, there is nothing more than watching the making-of of Revees training martial arts or shooting at specialized shooting ranges.
This way of representing and narrating the action has influenced other very veteran sagas, such as the case of Mission: Impossible Fallout and its fight scene in the bathroom or in the recent Spanish film xtremo . Aside from the fifth installment of the franchise, a series is being developed on El Continental , the hotels that represent a neutral zone for this world of murderers. We will have to wait to see how the choice of cast that Shamier Anderson has joined evolves, although we will not be able to see the film until May 27, 2022.
