Mühlenbecker Land – Two women died in a traffic accident in Mühlenbecker Land in Brandenburg on Saturday evening.
The driver at the age of 32 and her 28-year-old passenger, who was six months pregnant, died at the scene of the accident, as the Oberhavel police department announced on Sunday.
The person who caused the accident and his 31-year-old passenger wanted to flee from the scene of the accident. But both were caught about 800 meters away, it said.
According to previous knowledge, the 23-year-old driver from Berlin is said to have hit the opposite lane in a right-hand bend due to excessive speed. He then collided with the car in which the women were sitting. Two other occupants of the vehicle, aged 31 and 33, were taken to hospitals.
The police are now investigating suspicions of the accident escape and the negligent homicide. An expert examined the exact course of the accident. Both vehicles that were no longer ready to drive had to be salvaged. The federal highway was completely closed for eight hours. dpa
