It was the year 2007 and the generation of PS2 began to be overshadowed by the arrival of PS3. The best-selling console of all time had to step aside to make way for the new generation , but before putting it away it gave us a real game.
God of War II was the sequel to the adventures of Kratos, in which we had to go to our appointment with the Sisters of Destiny to change the course of Olympus. The person in charge of directing that title was Cory Barlog , one of the creatives most closely linked to the franchise.
On the occasion of the 14th anniversary, Barlog shared through his Twitter account part of his story behind the title. Basically, he admitted that he ” had absolutely no idea what the hell he was doing most of the time.”
I had absolutely NO IDEA what the hell I was doing pretty much the ENTIRE time. Every day felt like I was thrown on stage opening night to perform a musical that I had never even heard of, much less rehearsed.
Fortunately, I was inspired at every turn by a brilliant team.❤️ https://t.co/kR50HNFOfE

Thanks to the help provided by the team around him, he was inspired to get the job done. However, the lessons it learned during development continued.
“When I finished the game, only then did I understand the MECHANICS of being a director,” says Barlog. It was not until over the years that the director began to improve in his position , managing to cover all the facets that he must deal with.
Let’s remember that it was Cory Barlog’s first experience in this regard. His link to the saga remained , as he was later creative director of God of War: Chains of Olympus and was responsible for the return of the god of war in 2018. Now, we continue to wait for more news about God of War: Ragnarok , the title that is scheduled to land in 2021 on PS5.
