Game canceled? Game in development? Many are the questions surrounding ‘Aliens: Colonial Marines’ . A title that had to overcome a tremendous hiatus due to the success of another game from the same development studio. A matter of prioritizing and wanting everything to have its just cooking point and quality. The fact is that this ‘Aliens: Colonial Marines’ is more alive than ever and the new images have arrived at GamesCom.
It seems that Gearbox’s work can be tremendous and, at the very least, the images revealed so far manage to go beyond the feeling and aesthetics of the second film in the saga. What do you want me to tell you, I’ve always been a tremendous fan of Alien and those corridors, those xenomorphs in test tubes and those marines shooting like crazy give me good feelings.
As always when we talk about a franchise this well known, I am very afraid that there will be no middle ground. Either they get a great game that leaves us all hallucinating, or they get a chestnut that is not up to the standards of the movies. We will see what comes out in the end.
Remember that the last experience, that of ‘Alien vs. Predator ‘did not quite turn out as well as we expected. Good graphics but a lot of flaws to polish. Let’s hope that this time Gearbox will be given enough time to polish the details and get a good house brand FPS. What latest FPS has Gearbox released? ‘Duke Nukem Forever’. But let’s not be bad, that game was an insurmountable hot potato. Let’s think about ‘Borderlands’ and things change a lot.
