Born into the Russian aristocracy, Sergei Kravinoff is the alter ego of Kraven the Hunter. The hunting-obsessed character first appeared as a villain in 1964 in Volume 15 of “The Amazing Spider-Man,” created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. As seen in the original comics, Kravinoff began his career using typical hunter tools, but over time he developed a preference for killing large animals with his bare hands.

After meeting a voodoo witch doctor named Calypso, Kravinoff takes a potion of herbs and gains powers such as strength, speed, and ultra-developed senses. The potion also lengthened his life, maintaining his health and vitality.
