Despite more rain, the levels are falling again in large parts of Franconia. The fire brigade warns against driving over flooded ditches, areas and rivers with rubber dinghies, canoes or stand-up paddles.
Neustadt an der Aisch / Wilhermsdorf / Höchstadt – After the storms and floods in Franconia, the situation there has eased. Despite the rain, the levels fell on Sunday in most of the affected areas.
In the district of Neustadt an der Aisch, the disaster was initially still in effect on Sunday, but this should be checked during the day.
In the districts of Neustadt an der Aisch and Erlangen-Höchstadt, fire brigades were still running on Sunday. A spokesman for the Erlangen-Höchstadt fire department said a spokesman for the Erlangen-Höchstadt fire department said it was only now possible to pump out the basement due to the sinking level. There, Höchstadt and Adelsdorf, among others, were particularly affected, in some cases the floods only peaked there on Saturday. He assumes that the missions will occasionally last until Monday morning.
The spokesman also warned urgently against navigating flooded trenches, areas and rivers with rubber dinghies, canoes or stand-up paddles. That is “incredibly dangerous”. That is why there were four missions in the Erlangen-Höchstadt district alone.
In Ansbach, on the other hand, the situation had “relaxed completely” by Sunday, as the fire brigade said. Here, too, the disaster had meanwhile been declared but ended again on Saturday night. In the Fürth district, too, the fire brigade said that things were going back to normal. The flood is “through”.
There were initially no statements about the amount of damage. Overall, the number of missions is likely to be in the thousands, in the Neustadt an der Aisch district alone there were more than 1000. dpa
