AMC Theaters purchased several Denver movie theaters from Kerasotes Theaters, a Chicago company, in 2010. AMC Theaters was founded in 1920 in the Kansas City area. AMC has also invested in IMAX technology, with more than a third of cinemas with an IMAX screen.
According to AMC Theaters, the company serves 200 million customers per year in nearly 350 theaters in the United States. Prices vary by location, but all AMC Theaters venues offer discounts for students and seniors. Most of the AMC theaters in Denver serve alcohol through their MacGuffins Bar and Lounge, with the exception of the theater at Cherry Creek Mall.
