Magdeburg – On Monday, local rain showers and thunderstorms form again in Germany. Especially in the north, north-east and south, the DWD warns of renewed risk of storms due to heavy rain with up to 30 liters of rain per square meter per hour, in the northeast, extremely heavy rain with up to 45 liters of rain cannot be ruled out locally.
In Saxony-Anhalt, too, according to information from the DWD, stormy rains are expected, especially in the region around Magdeburg. After the temperatures rise again to summery 28 degrees, several thunderstorms could form in the region in the afternoon, which could combine to form a large thunderstorm area, which then hardly moves for a long time. Saxony-Anhalt: Strong thunderstorms on Sunday without major damage
The first strong thunderstorms had already formed in Saxony-Anhalt on Sunday (July 25th, 2021). According to the meteorologists, it was normal summer thunderstorms, as they often occur in July and August – including the thunderstorms that are expected on Monday and during the week.
