The Audi A5 has always been a difficult vehicle to classify. Its bodywork is based on the familiar A4 but its coupe silhouette is not only beautiful, it is also very particular. Few brands have entered this unique segment and only BMW has a direct rival: the BMW 4 Series Coupé . Both stand out for their design and perfection, so seeing them circulate on our roads is a pleasure to behold. Audi launched its first A5 in 2007 and renewed it in 2016, with a more harmonious and dynamic body, which has been slightly tweaked today. This facelift focuses on the mechanical and technological section of the saloon, but is also visible on the outside. In its offer of motors the incorporation of a small electrical support is standardized. A block that gives them light hybridization and its benefits in terms of emissions, consumption and power.
The aesthetic changes are focused on emphasizing the more ‘wild’ side of this family quirk. To do this, they give it a new front, flatter and wider , with redesigned air intakes and a more imposing bumper. LED technology comes standard on all models, with the option of incorporating Matrix LED headlights with laser lights at the front and dynamic indicators at the rear. The trapezoidal exhausts of the more racing variants create a feeling of greater spaciousness.
The A5 range is complete. Its renovation affects the Audi A5 Sportback, A5 Coupé and A5 Cabrio , in addition to the more emotional variant S5 . The Audi RS5 Coupe and RS5 Sportback also accommodate the changes of the normal model but continue to mount the 450 horsepower engine, with automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The arrival at dealerships is scheduled for this beginning of 2020, with a price range that starts at 48,120 euros for the A5 Coupé 35 TDI . A price that is identical to that of the A5 Sportback, with an extra cost for the convertible model. The convertible top of the version opens and closes in 15 seconds, a procedure that can be performed below 50 km / h. The boot of the convertible is 370 liters compared to 450 liters in the Coupé variant (not S5).
