The new Audi RS 7 Sportback , which Audi Sport GmbH has presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA) 2019, is presented as the second generation of this coupe-like model, now more exclusive with a widened body and five seats, in addition to improved efficiency and performance thanks to Mild Hybrid technology.
The model, very close to the ground, is now sportier than ever , thanks in large part to the widened wheel arches found in the high-performance version. This greater width translates into about 40 mm more between the front wings than the Audi A7 Sportback. In addition, the new RS 7 shares the bonnet, roof, front doors and tailgate with the standard version, thus continuing with the coupe line that we already found in the A7.
The RS 7 Sportback also features a front end, with a flat, wide Singleframe grille without contrast at the edges , a radiator grille with the three-dimensional honeycomb structure specific to RS models, and large front air intakes. and some vertical fins in gloss black, which add to the more aggressive design.
For its part, the side of the new RS 7 Sportback shows well-defined lines and muscular curved surfaces, which help to give a feeling of dynamism, even when the vehicle is stationary. Other of the most characteristic features of the model are the specific RS side skirts, with aluminum inserts as standard, which accentuate the sensation of movement in the high-performance Sportback; and the curved trailing edge of the rear, in addition to the light band that connects the taillights.
Oliver Hoffmann , director of Audi Sport GmbH, notes that “the RS 7 Sportback is our interpretation of a high-performance five-door coupe in a grand tourer design.” “With a refined concept that makes it even more suitable for everyday use, in addition to its incredible performance, what we have here is an exceptional sports car for customers who like their cars to have an impressive design,” adds Hoffmann .
