Battlefield 2042 is now a reality: first details and a shocking trailer of the new installment of the war action saga

The rumors are over. Electronic Arts and DICE have officially announced that the next Battlefield will be officially renamed Battlefield 2042 , a name related to the setting of this new installment, since this time we will not travel back to relive the wars of the past and instead we will be involved in a conflict that takes place in the future, although it will not have a campaign .

The announcement comes along with the first official details that have revealed that the setting will take us to a transformed world. The United States and Russia are on the brink of war after a series of decades-long battles that have generated a large number of combat veterans. Without going any further, these specialists must give their best to create a future worth fighting for.

This will cause the gameplay to bet on a new specialist system with ten different classes to select from. Therefore, players must choose their role on the battlefields, each with its own unique perks and customizable equipment, as well as create squads to claim victory.

All these details are accompanied by the first official images of this new Battlefield , on which we must admit that it looks impressive, as can also be seen in the first cinematic trailer that you have located a little higher.

The destruction of the scenarios will be brutal, with explosions and helicopters that we will pilot.

There will also be times when we will fly through the air in an airsuit escaping tornadoes.

At no time will we be able to relax, because the war will be constant in each scenario.

Some of the maps will present astonishing realism.

The multiplayer mode, the only one to be accessed, will continue to be one of the series’ strong points. Last year, DICE stated that their intention was to create epic large-scale battles with enormous fidelity that we have never experienced. That is why it will present us with a total of seven immense maps with a capacity for 128 players (64 players on PS4 and Xbox One) set in Seoul, Egypt and other iconic places totally different from each other.

During the fighting we will be able to summon robotic dogs, use a hook to move quickly from one place to another or fly through the air with a winged suit, so that not everything will be hitting shots as if there were no tomorrow. Above all, all this will be accompanied by atmospheric phenomena that will condition the games when having to face tornadoes, tsunamis and other elements of nature.

Finally, it has been confirmed that Battlefield 2042 will go on sale on October 22 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S and PC with an open beta that will elapse before its launch, at a date still to come. determine, but at least now we know when the one that aims to be one of the most spectacular and ambitious Battlefields of the series will arrive.
