This is how various gadgets that are currently used are attributed to him, such as being the inventor of the lightning rod, bifocal lenses , the glass harmonica and the Franklin stove. The first of these was devised in 1749, when he saw that a sharp iron needle conducted electricity and did so.
Regarding bifocal lenses, it should be noted that he himself had a visual problem and needed two types of glasses , those for seeing up close and others for seeing far away. This is why he cut his glasses in half and glued each half to the middle of the other pair. And that’s when this type of lens was invented.

Death
The inventor had pleurisy for years and therefore spent time in bed. Later, as the years passed, in 1790 there was time and it was when he died as a result of this disease at the age of 84 years.
