Located on the south side of the Inner Harbor, Federal Hill Park is one of the best places to see the Baltimore skyline. The grassy summit is where 4,000 patriots celebrated Maryland’s ratification of the United States Constitution in 1788. Nearby is the American Visionary Art Museum, featuring bizarre kinetic sculptures and a brilliant exterior mosaic. The museum is definitely worth visiting, even if it’s only from the outside.

Known as the “birthplace of the National Anthem,” Fort McHenry is where Francis Scott Key was inspired to write the “Banner with Stars.” A perfect place to take the kids, there are many activities and storytellers at the historic site.
