We have just been totally dazzled by the first Battlefield 2042 trailer. The new DICE installment promises a lot with its fine-tuning for a future age. Meanwhile, Activision continues to prepare its strategy for the counterattack, as this year there will be a new installment of Call of Duty .
Confirmed by the company itself, Sledgehammer Games is behind the project and it will arrive sometime in the fall. Now, from VGC, they have shed more light on the plans for the title. First of all, according to the media, we will not see the game during this E3 2021 and when asked to the editor about the confirmation of this information, it has been referred to the Summer Game Fest as an event to show season 4 of Warzone and Black Ops Cold War.
Of course, the official presentation will take place at some point in the summer, without specifying when. There will be multiplayer mode, campaign and zombies on maps set in territories of the Pacific and Europe during that time and from the point of view of the birth of the Special Forces. From Eurogamer it was also confirmed that the game will be called Call of Duty: Vanguard and its events will take place during World War II.
Plans for Warzone
What role will Warzone play in all of these movements? From VGC they point out that the plan is to adapt the battle royale to the historical era of Vanguard and thus remain integrated with the main installment of the franchise.
What’s more, the idea is to draw a very ambitious roadmap, in which a coincident launch with Vanguard will occur, facilitating the transition. A new larger map regarding Verdansk will appear, we will be able to pilot new vehicles and improvements will be added to the graphics engine.
Finally, VGC points out that they understand that all Activision studios are currently working to bring the game forward. One of them is Toys for Bob , which has been recruited to give a further push to development.
