A new corona regulation will come into force in Baden-Württemberg on Monday. Among other things, a PCR test will be compulsory instead of a quick test for admission to certain areas.
Stuttgart – After the states have agreed on a new Corona regulation with Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU), new regulations will apply in Baden-Württemberg from Monday. Even if the incidence in the country has been rising continuously since July *, the seven-day incidence will no longer serve as a guide value in the future (BW24 * reported). Life should return to the state it was before the pandemic. The maximum number of persons for meetings is no longer applicable, discotheques, theaters and many more can be visited again without restriction – at least that applies to those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered. All others are subject to a new regulation: In future, non-vaccinated people will only be allowed access to many facilities with a negative PCR test (* echo24 reported).
In August, the corona rules in Baden-Württemberg * changed. Now there are again changes: The incidence will no longer serve as a guide for next Monday (August 16). The basis for the new regulation in Baden-Württemberg * is to be the 3G rule – so the new freedoms only apply to those who have been vaccinated, tested or recovered. This increases the pressure on those who have not yet been vaccinated against the corona virus in Baden-Württemberg *.
A simple quick test will no longer be sufficient in the future. “The details are currently being worked out under high pressure within the state government, for example it is planned that there should no longer be a maximum number of people at cultural events indoors as well as in clubs and discos, the facilities can open at full capacity,” says Marcel Murmann, press spokesman for the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Social Affairs, Health and Integration, opposite echo24 . The condition here: the visitors must be vaccinated, recovered or in this case: be tested negative with a PCR test.
Compulsory PCR test in Baden-Württemberg: From now on, a quick test is no longer sufficient
A rapid antigen test should continue to be sufficient for indoor restaurants, hairdressers and body-hugging service providers. From October 11th, these tests will also be chargeable. It is also planned that PCR tests will be necessary wherever close proximity to the body cannot be avoided. The ministry will define in the coming days which areas are included.
There are these types of tests to determine a disease with corona:
PCR test | During this test, a nasal or throat swab is taken by medical personnel. The test is evaluated by laboratories. The costs: between 30 and 50 euros, depending on the federal government. |
Rapid antigen tests | These tests can only be carried out by trained personnel. Here, too, a nasal and throat swab is taken. The evaluation takes place directly on site. Up until now, one test per week was free. The test will be chargeable from October 11th. |
Self-tests | As the name suggests, these tests can be done by yourself and done through a nasal swab or with saliva. |
PCR tests are currently considered to be the most reliable evidence of corona disease. Quick tests and self-tests have a higher error rate. Therefore, a PCR test should always be carried out for confirmation after every positive rapid and self-test. In Baden-Württemberg, according to the new regulation, unvaccinated people should carry out a PCR test in advance in areas where a safety distance cannot be guaranteed and masks cannot be worn – for example at concerts, in clubs or discos. Unvaccinated people will soon have to pay for this themselves.
Compulsory PCR testing in Baden-Württemberg: Details of the regulation will be announced on Sunday
Not everyone agrees with the new regulation. FDP parliamentary group leader Hans-Ulrich Rülke said, for example, that the obligation to PCR tests is “more about harassment than about protecting the population” *.
It is not yet clear what the regulation will ultimately look like in detail. The ordinance should be announced no later than Sunday and finally come into force on Monday. It is still unclear whether the 3G rule will then have to be implemented. On Thursday, however, it was said that a one-week transition period was planned. The regulation is initially valid for four weeks. In mid-September, the ministers will discuss a new regulation. * BW24 and * echo24.de are an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA.
