Corona case numbers in Germany: More than 45,000 new infections – the incidence is increasing

The nationwide seven-day incidence continues to rise on Tuesday as well. The RKI announces the current case numbers for Germany.

Berlin – The corona pandemic continues to rage in Germany, a recovery is not in sight. The incidence continues to rise and is now just below the 400 mark. The nationwide seven-day incidence also rose to a new high on Tuesday (November 23, 2021). According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week in the morning was 399.8.

For comparison: the previous day the value was 386.5, a week ago it was 312.4 (previous month: 100.0). The health authorities in Germany reported 45,326 new corona infections to the RKI within one day. This is evident from the numbers that reflect the status of the RKI dashboard at 03:39. Exactly one week ago there were 32,048 infections.

The seven-day incidence indicates the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week. On November 8, the value in Germany had exceeded the threshold of 200 and thus the previous high since the beginning of the pandemic of 197.6. Since then, new highs have been registered every day.

The seven-day incidence in Germany continues to rise.

According to the new information, 309 deaths were recorded across Germany within 24 hours. A week ago there were 265 deaths. The RKI has counted 5,430,911 detected infections with Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic. The actual total number is likely to be significantly higher, as many infections are not recognized.

Corona case numbers for Germany: hospitalization rate continues to rise

The number of corona patients admitted to clinics per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days was given by the RKI on Monday at 5.28.
