Corona case numbers: RKI reports an incidence of 232.4 for Germany

The RKI informs about an increasing nationwide corona incidence in Germany. Important: The dates can be inaccurate due to the previous holidays.

Kassel – The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported an incidence of new corona infections of 232.4 for Germany on Monday morning (January 3rd, 2022). In comparison, the Corona value on Sunday was still 227.7. The RKI reports this as of 03.17 a.m. on its Covid-19 dashboard.

In the past 24 hours, 18,518 new infections with the novel Sars-Cov-2 coronavirus were reported to the institute. The total number rose to 7,207,847. Of these, 193,262 corona cases were reported in the past seven days.

RKI informs about lower test and reporting activity

“During the holidays and at the turn of the year, it should be noted when interpreting the number of cases that less test and reporting activity can be expected, so that the data shown in the dashboard and management report could only provide an incomplete picture of the epidemiological situation in Germany.”

The case numbers of the RKI can differ from those of the individual federal states. One reason for this is the longer transmission routes between the RKI and the responsible health authorities. The RKI’s Covid-19 dashboard can also be adjusted during the day.

Corona case numbers for Germany: RKI reports 68 deaths in 24 hours

The RKI also reports an increase in deaths related to Sars-Cov-2. The number of deaths in Germany rose by 68 to 112,223. The institute also provides information on the following estimates: The number of people recovered rose by 37,600 to 6,478,600, which reduced the number of active Covid-19 cases by around 19,200 to 617,100.

An infection with the novel coronavirus can show itself in various symptoms and leads to Covid-19 disease: A disease can then take different courses of the corona. The corona vaccines that have been approved in Germany are intended to help people. The Novavax corona vaccine, like other vaccines, has side effects – it is about to be approved. (jey)
