The Hague – December 7, 2021 marks a real milestone for Crown Princess Amalia of the Netherlands. The daughter of King Willem-Alexander (54) and Queen Máxima (50) will be 18 years old * and will take on an even more important position at the royal court.

In June, Princess Alexia celebrated her 16th birthday, and now the next party in the Dutch royal family * is on the agenda. Crown Princess Amalia * will be 18 years old – and thus of legal age. Crown Princess Amalia turns 18 today – “She knows exactly what she wants”
In the Net5 documentary “Prinses Amalia: tiener op weg naar de troon uit” (German: Princess Amalia: Teenager on the way to the throne), the former mayor of Wassenaar Jan Hoekema (69) remembers the childhood of Crown Princess back. King Willem-Alexander * and Queen Máxima * lived there with their daughters in Villa Eikenhorst until 2019. He remembers one Amalia’s bicycle accident well, which luckily ended with nothing.
In an AVROTROS special with the simple title “Amalia 18”, other companions of the heir to the throne have their say.
