Cupra is here to stay. And what better way to show it than by stepping away from the conventional and welcoming you to a world powered by electrification. The new Tavascan , a large concept car with a sporty design and a sophisticated interior, presented to the world at the Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA), is good proof of this, as it becomes the brand’s first fully electric vehicle Sports subsidiary of Seat, thus demonstrating good progress towards its vision of the electrification of sportsmanship.
The high performance offered by the prototype, natural from the DNA of a brand as exclusive as Cupra, are combined on this occasion with an expressive, emotional and sophisticated design, and an exciting and original interior space. Not to mention the cutting-edge technology that it demonstrates, above all, with the digital instrument panel that incorporates a 12.3-inch screen and the 13-inch touch screen to operate the infotainment system. The result of all this mixture is the 100% electric Cupra Tavascan concept, which takes its name from a town of impressive landscape and high mountain nature located in the Pyrenees, and which defines itself as a vehicle designed to respond to the needs of a market in which a growth in the sales of electric SUV coupe is expected.
The first road Cupra to use a 100% electric powertrain with zero emissions, the Tavascan has perfectly combined the proportions of a four-door crossover, the presence of an SUV and the elegance of a sports coupe.
Wayne Griffiths , CEO of Cupra, points out that “in addition to the Cupra Formentor, which will begin to be marketed in 2020 together with two other high-performance plug-in hybrid models, we have already demonstrated our technological capacity with the development of the Cupra e-Racer, the first 100% electric competition tourism in the world ”. “Now we are introducing this fully electric Cupra prototype with which we bring our vision to the streets, and which helps us to prove that performance can be electrified,” adds Griffiths.
