The trial against a 66-year-old man who is said to have neutered several men at their own request began on Thursday in Munich with an intensive questionnaire on his curriculum vitae and financial circumstances.
Munich – One of them died shortly after the procedure, according to the prosecution. The public prosecutor’s office accuses the electrician not only of serious and dangerous bodily harm, but also of murder through omission.
The defendant’s defense lawyer announced that he would also testify on the matter. At the same time, the lawyer suggested that the causal connection between the castration and the death of the man was being questioned.
The accused, who was born in Baden-Württemberg but recently lived in the Upper Bavarian market of Swabia, is said to have initially offered sadistic sexual practices through internet forums due to financial difficulties. According to the indictment, the electrician soon expanded his repertoire to include castrations. Contrary to what he had fooled those affected, he had no medical training whatsoever, as he admitted on the first day of the trial before the Munich II district court. A verdict is expected to fall at the end of November. dpa
