Hamm – In the case of the violent death of a young woman in Hamm, North Rhine-Westphalia, the 27-year-old suspect was taken into custody on Thursday.
The arrest warrant was issued by a judge at the Hamm district court, as public prosecutor Felix Giesenregen announced. There is an urgent suspicion of murder. The “Bild” newspaper had previously reported on the arrest warrant.
The partially undressed corpse of the 25-year-old was found on Sunday by a passer-by in a green area in Hamm. An autopsy had revealed a “violent death”. Investigators had not commented on how the woman died and whether she had been sexually abused before her death.
According to earlier statements by the investigators, traces of the 27-year-old had been detected under the woman’s fingernails. A picture of the woman’s body was recovered on the man’s cell phone. The woman’s blood was also found on a knife in the man’s apartment.
The 27-year-old was initially arrested, but was released on Monday. He was arrested again on Wednesday. dpa
