This is a myth , according to experts. The level of ethanol in the blood depends exclusively on the amount of this alcohol ingested. At parties and cocktail bars, people start by consuming one type of alcoholic beverage and decide to experiment with others, possibly higher strengths, when it is sparked.
The next day, the person associates their hangover with the drink mix, rather than blaming it on excess alcohol. Psychological factors also play a role: there are experiments in which people who believe they have ingested alcoholic beverages, when in fact they have been served non-alcoholic drinks, show signs of intoxication.
