"Dragons and Dungeons" begins filming with Chris Pine and Regé-Jean Page

Dragons and Dungeons is perhaps the most famous RPG in the world. So much so that the title already had a film adaptation in 2000 with the same title in which Jeremy Irons played the villain. This version was a failure in many aspects, both in the filmic quality, with some special effects that have aged frankly badly and a 3.6 note in IMBD, as well as in the economic part, since it cost 45 million dollars and only raised 33.8. We could say that this new version will have nothing to do with this old disaster, although its former director Courtney Solomon will be one of the producers of this new adaptation. Direct Jonathan Goldstein (Holidays and Game Night) announced the start of filming of the film through his Twitter account, with a photo of the clapperboard in which you could read “Dragons and Dungeons” with his duo in the direction of John Francis Daley. The only written text of the post read “The campaign begins” and the hashtag DnD. Fans have been waiting 20 years for someone to fix the image of the popular game that the 2000 film damaged so severely. Producer Paramount has wanted to take a different approach with the franchise, filling the project with big-name stars. Chris Pine, already used to resurrecting sagas, as he did with Star Trek, will be the protagonist along with the man of the moment for his role as count in the Bridgertons, Regé Jean Page. The production will be completed by Michelle Rodriguez, Hugh Grant, Sophia Lillis, Justice Smith and Chloe Coleman. The script will be in charge of Daley and Goldstein themselves, who have already shown their talent for writing comedy thanks to productions such as Spiderman: Homecoming, Vacation and How to kill your boss 2.At the moment, little is known about how the tone of the film will be, although without delving much into the previous works it is possible to assume that the comedy will have an essential point to lighten the story. Even with filming started, they are very reserved with the story from which the fantastic adventure will start, which is scheduled to premiere in 2023. Hopefully, the expected adaptation works better than its predecessor, in all aspects.
