In 2017, DS Automobiles presented the DS 7 Crossback, the first 100% pure creation of the French luxury car manufacturer, which radiated a new avant-garde spirit. Widely applauded for its incomparable interior, exceptional refinement and cutting-edge technologies, the DS 7 Crossback paved the way for new developments now embodied by the newly introduced new DS 7. “While respecting the personality and elegance of the existing silhouette, we have injected an additional touch of dynamism with sharp features. The character of the New DS 7 is increased, especially at the front and rear, with a design directly inspired by our recent concept cars.New tailoring also reinforces the character of the interior in search of even greater refinement. The new DS 7 is the result of cooperation between my team, our experts, in particular the lighting experts who brought cutting-edge technology, the DS Performance engineers, not forgetting our manufacturing team dedicated to the success of the new DS 7”, has detailed Thierry Metroz , design director of the model.
The brand, under its range of lowest CO2 emissions in Europe in the last two years and with several titles in Formula E, offers the new DS 7 with several types of engines, including a range of three plug-in hybrids with 225, 300 and 360 hp. The new DS 7 E-Tense 225 has a PureTech 180 petrol engine and a 110 hp electric motor integrated into the eight-speed automatic gearbox with two-wheel drive transmission. And the new DS 7 E-Tense 4×4 300 and DS 7 E-Tense 4×4 360 have a 4×4 transmission with a PureTech 200 engine, as well as a 110 and 112 CV electric motor coupled to each of the axles. The 360 version receives specific adjustments, made by DS Performance.
A new 14.2 kWh battery allows up to 65 kilometers with zero emissions in the WLTP mixed cycle, and even up to 81 kilometers in the urban cycle . Charging time is about two hours on a 7.4 kW terminal. Furthermore, diesel still has a future in the DS range, as this new model is also offered with a BlueHDi 130 engine.
